us!! Come Sing to the trees, dance to the fabulous music of Zlatne
Uste, Romski Boji, and the Balkan Brothers, celebrate Spring, toast
the new crop, feast on the very best locally grown foods rejoice with
us. and check out the NEW cider building!!! If you have never made it
to our beautiful orchard in Dutchess County, 90 miles north of NYC,
unlimited camping, and some floor space left. spread the word, this is
a wonderful way to introduce friends to Balkan music and Djurdjevdan
is only a week later........who knows what will happen, the orchard
should be in bloom, and the new cider building is up and running the
format, Michael Ginsburg will teach Balkan dance in the afternoon,
reknowned Dumbek player Seido Salifovski will teach a drum workshop at
3, cocktails and live music will start at 5, dinner at 6, with the
torchlight procession, bonfire and dancing after dinner, join us as we
reenact the ancient tradition of wassailing the orchard, followed by
spectacular live Balkan music, Zlatne Uste, a 10 piece brass band will
play Serbian, Rom, and Macedonian music in our dance hall, followed by
legendary dumbek player Seido Salifovski and his band of outstanding
romani musicians from Macedonia, and the Balkan Brothers Seido
Salifovski and Ismail Butera, who will be perfoming songs and stories
related to the spring tradition of Djudjevdan (St George's Day), This
is the most extraordinary line up of musicians we have ever been privileged
to present, it is a unique and rare opportunity to hear this music in
a natural setting. Whole event including dinner 35.00, deals for
families, students and starving musicians, no one turned away,
children under 6 are free.
